More Beer Please!!!! Students of St Andrews Raise a Glass for TCCL

The students of St Andrews University Oktoberfest committee held their 2010 event in aid of TCCL. It was a great success and at this event they raised £11,000 for us.

We used this money to re-equip two treatment rooms in the children's hospital with child friendly dinosaur and hippo beds and medical equipment. The walls were decorated with animal murals and the nurses were given animal medical equipment to work with. Once the room makeovers were complete, we invited the students over to see what we had done with the money that they raised.

In 2011, they again chose to support our charity and despite a smaller venue, they really excelled themselves by raising a staggering £17,000 for TCCL. On Wed 4th May 2011, Felix Von Abercron and 2 of the Oktoberfest committee members came across to Ward 29 at Ninewells hospital to present the cheque to us.

We agreed that £10,000 would be put towards the TCCL Lodge Fund and that the remaining £7,000 would go to the main TCCL charity. The 2011 St Andrews Oktoberfest Committee which consisted of Felix von Abercron, Felix Zech-Burkersroda, Angelina Volk, Leopold Thun-Hohenstein, Raphael Ferretti and Antonius Willms organised and ran the event in St Andrews.

The committee for the 2012 event has been taken over by Felix Zech-Burkersroda, and they have agreed once again that their chosen charity will remain as TCCL for the 2012 event which will take place in March.

The TCCL committee greatly appreciate all the support that we have received from this group over the last few years and look forward to working with them again on the 2012 event.
