John Walker with the 15th Dundee Girls Brigade Members

In between the church services on Easter Sunday at St Andrews Church in Dundee, the 12 members and leaders of the 15th Dundee Girls Brigade served an Easter Breakfast to members of the church.

From this event, they raised the sum of £230, which they donated to a local childrens charity, Tayside Children with Cancer and Leukaemia (TCCL). On Mon 23rd May John Walker, the chairman of TCCL, went along to the groups Family and Friends evening to receive the cheque from their Leader Sheila Valentine and the girls of the group.

Following the cheque handover, John Walker gave the audience a brief talk on the work of TCCL, and how it uses funds raised by groups like the Girls Brigade.

Due to the High Winds, the person scheduled to present the prizes to the girls was unable to get over from Newport, so John Walker stood in and presented the prizes to the girls as well during his visit.
