Oktoberfest donatio is no small beer

On Tues 13th May, four members of the St Andrews University Oktoberfest Committee paid a visit to Ninewells Childrens Hospital, to hand over a cheque to Tayside Children with Cancer and Leukaemia (TCCL) from their annual oktoberfest event, which is held in March each year.

They were met by John Walker (TCCL Chairman) and Jane Wheater (Oncology liaiason nurse) and given a guided tour of the Clinic and Ward, as well as the TCCL Garden.

At the end of the tour they gave the charity a cheque for £17,000 and were thanked for this donation by the Chairman, John Walker.

John Walker said "Over the past 5 years, the oktoberfest committee has supported TCCL and in that time they have raised £80,000 in total for TCCL and TCCL Lodge.

They will be guests of the charity at a fundraising ball in 2015, to thank them for their valued support over that time, and we look forward to working with them again in 2015."
